The Wolf and Seven Young Kids

Brothers Grim (ashliman)



The cat and a mouse live together as friends. They store a pot of fat to survive the winter. The cat sneaks off and eats all the fat. The mouse finds out that the cat did it and confronts the cat and the cat eats the mouse.

A wolf tricks kids into letting him into the house. He eats six of them but doesn’t catch the seventh. The wolf then goes and falls asleep under the tree. The mother goat comes home and finds out what happens. They find the wolf and cut open his stomach and the kids are alive and free. They fill the wolf with stones and when the wolf goes to the well to drink water he falls in and dies.

The singing bones is about a boar that terrorizes the land. The king says that anyone that kills the boar wins his daughters hand in marriage. Two brothers set out to kill the boar. The bother with a kind heart is given a spear from a dwarf and he kills the boar. On his way home he sees his brother and shows him the boar. His brother becomes jealous and kills him and buries him under a bridge so he can claim the prize. Years later a shepherd is by the bridge and hears the bones singing. He takes one of the bones to the king and the king is able to understand what the bones are singing and has the earth under the bridge dug up. When he does the murdered skeleton of the boy comes to life and the other brother is put in a sack and drowned for his crime.
